- What is the difference between HCM / HRIS / HRMS/ ERM?
HCM traditionally refers to a function; HRIS is a HR information system and HRMS a HR management system. Over time these three terms have become increasingly interchangeable with the extensive software available. You can find out more on this at HRMS World. ERM (Employee relationship management) is a newer term, and one that XCD focuses its development on. It goes over and above standard HRIS and HRMS software by helping employers build stronger relationships with their people.

Integrated software usually means data is held in different databases, which talk to each other.

Implementation and Professional Services
- How long does XCD take to implement?
Every customer is different, depending on size of organisation, process complexities and any custom build. Your Business Development Manager will be able to give you a detailed guide to this following a thorough scoping session. However, we do recommend that businesses allow at least 3-4 months for the implementation of HR software, or 4-6 for HR and Payroll software, depending on complexity of requirements.
- What is your implementation methodology?
Our Project Implementation approach follows a staged methodology that is built on the principles of Prince2. The XCD Methodology is typically a single phase with six stages: Initiate, Design, Build, Test, Deploy and Closure. Your Business Development Manager will provide you with more information.
- How will you understand my company in detail?
This will begin during the sales process, where your dedicated Business Development Manager will get to know your teams, your processes and your strategies. Upon commencement of the project, our sales and professional services teams will arrange a formal kick off meeting with your team. This meeting will discuss the finer details of your company and processes. During the design stage of implementation, we will confirm the exact configuration that is required to meet each of your needs by conducting workshops and compiling a solution design document that both parties will sign up to.
- What resource will I need to dedicate to the project?
As part of your project team you will need to assign individuals who can represent each aspect of your business that is going to be involved. For example, people who understand the HR processes, such as starters, leavers, etc., and someone who understands how your pay structures are calculated, holidays, sickness, pensions and others.
Data migration is a key area for any project, and you will need access to someone who understands your existing data to work with us on this area.
- Will I have a dedicated project manager?
Yes. Each new customer gets assigned a dedicated project team and Project Manager and will follow a governance model, which will be overseen by the Professional Services Director.
- What technical/IT resource will I need?
Very little. As XCD is a true cloud solution with SaaS deployment, you will not be required to provide anybody to manage hardware/infrastructure aspects as you would an on-site/on-premise solution. We will need resource from your IT team when incorporating XCD into your existing email and single sign on solutions.
