After arriving at work, your day begins pretty much the same as most days - with a glance at your schedule. According to TotalJobs, the top three tasks conducted by HR professionals use up ten times the amount of time that is required for the low priority tasks. Such as on-boarding and instructions (1.1%), redundancy management (1.5%), and personnel management (2.6%).
On top of this workload HR also must process payroll, conduct performance evaluations, administer employee benefit plans, ensure government compliance, answer holiday requests...the list goes on.
