Our teams are remote across the UK and India.

We have a strong and stable base of clients with well-known household names across the private and public sectors.  Backed by some of the best investors in the UK, we are now seeking an experienced Salesforce Technical Consultant to join our Professional Services delivery team in the UK, focusing on supporting our customer implementations.

Job Summary

As a member of the Professional Services team, you will engage with our customer base to design and deliver the build and deployment of bespoke configured solutions, optimising Salesforce functionality to advise and meet our customer’s specific business requirements.

Your job will be to ensure high customer satisfaction throughout implementation projects, either standalone or as part of a wider programme of work, by delivering high-quality solutions and whilst engaging senior client stakeholders throughout the process.

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Work Location: UK Home based and fully remote.  Occasional requirement to attend customer sites or team meetings in the UK.

Reporting To:  HR Consultancy Manager

 

Scope of the Role

Solution design: Lead the design, architecture and deployment of scalable and high-performance custom Salesforce solutions.

Stakeholder collaboration:  Build lasting relationships with our customers.  Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable Salesforce solution designs. Act as the technical liaison between business users and xcd HR product and development teams.

Salesforce best practice: Recommend and drive best practice process improvements for our customers, advising on optimal Salesforce usage and potential process improvements.  Ensure compliance with governance policies and optimise for performance, security and maintainability.

Customisation and integration:  Design and implement custom features and integrations within the Salesforce ecosystem and with other enterprise systems (ERP, third-party APIs, data warehouses) using Salesforce best practices, Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components.

Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including solution architecture diagrams and integration strategies. Provide clear documentation on system designs for future reference and to support customer testing and upgrades.

Quality assurance: Ensure the quality of delivered solutions through rigorous testing and peer reviews. Help define testing standards and implement processes to improve bespoke solution accuracy and reliability.

Troubleshooting and support:  Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolve complex issues across customer Salesforce environments.

Implementation: Proactively engage in projects to support the Project Managers in managing scope and ensuring operation to time and within budget.

Commercial and product awareness: Stay updated with Salesforce releases and new features.  Identify additional sales or upgrade opportunities and liaise with the Customer Success Managers to ensure that the customers’ continuing needs are met.

Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship to other team members.

 

What You’ll Need

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in Salesforce platform features including Lightning, Apex, Visualforce, and third-party integrations.
  • Experience with data migration, ETL tools and integration strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce architecture and capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL, SOQL), data modelling, and relational data structures.
  • Salesforce certification as a Certified Administrator as a minimum. Additional Salesforce certifications and experience would be welcome.

Business Skills

  • Proven ability to deliver multiple projects/workstreams simultaneously, whilst achieving high customer satisfaction.
  • Proven ability to positively influence senior customer stakeholders with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • A strong commercial awareness with the ability to deliver customer requirements within the constraints of the contract and xcd’s interests.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent planning and organisational abilities.

This role is remote, so you will be able to keep yourself motivated and strive to develop good working relationships with your team without being able to meet face to face on a regular basis.

Bonus Points

  • Consultancy experience is preferred with an ability to define and document solution configuration and design.
  • Hands-on experience with integration tools such as MuleSoft, REST, SOAP APIs, and third-party integration platforms.
  • Experience/knowledge of deploying change sets in Salesforce and/or working with a ps tool chain (such as Gearset).
  • Customer side HR or Payroll experience is always a plus. Understanding our clients is key to our success.
