Position Overview

As a Senior Salesforce Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing solutions on the Salesforce platform to meet business requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and leverage your expertise of the Salesforce platform to deliver high-quality, scalable and exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Salesforce development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying current with emerging Salesforce technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Custom Development: Design, develop, and implement custom solutions on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Lightning Components, Flow and other relevant technologies.
  • Software Craftsmanship: You are passionate about code quality and technical design, and an evangelist for approaches such as TDD/BDD, Unit Testing, Code Refactoring.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: You are a proponent of a modern, secure software development cycle and familiar with concepts such as Continuous Integration (Jenkins), Static Analysis, 2nd generation packaging, Version Control (Git).
  • Integration: Work on integrating Salesforce with other systems, both internal and external, to ensure seamless data flow and process automation.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers. Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and the overall quality of the codebase. Implement and enforce Salesforce best practices
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Investigate and resolve complex technical issues. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Salesforce applications
  • Stay Updated: Stay abreast of Salesforce releases, features, and best practices. Evaluate new technologies and tools to ensure the continued improvement of our Salesforce implementation.

Skills required

What you’ll need:
  • Preferred minimum of 3 years of experience in Salesforce development, with a focus on Apex, Lightning Components and Flow.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I and II, and/or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data model, and security.
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations using REST, SOAP, and other integration methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in mentoring more junior developers.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week)
Work Location: Home Based / Remote and requirement for frequent face to face meetings with colleagues (Bristol, Basingstoke or other appropriate locations)
Reporting To: Development Team Lead
